The church is the body of Jesus Christ. It is important for the
people of God to recognize that they must have a responsibility to both worship
and serve God.
The church is a people who have been both set apart from the
world to worship God, and sent back into the world to witness the Gospel
message of Jesus Christ. The church is first holy, called out to belong to God
and to worship Him. Secondly, the church is apostolic, sent out into the world
on its mission. Jesus Christ incarnated is the perfect embodiment of holiness.
On one hand, He came into the world, and assumed the full reality of human
experience. He made himself one with us in our frailty, and exposed himself to
our temptations.
On the other hand, interacting freely with people like us, He
never sacrificed, nor compromised His own unique identity. Now He sends us into
the world. We have to penetrate other people’s world as Jesus did ours. Since
we are the church, a holy and distinct people of God, we have been given the
challenge to be the channels used by Jesus Christ, to fulfill Him in function
here on earth.
Our mission is to further build the kingdom of God, to allow
Jesus Christ to manifest His glory through us, that the unsaved man is
compelled to desire salvation.
